Triangle Donates $600 to Lung Transplant Patient
Shelley Hannah was diagnosed 10 years ago with lymphangioleiomyomatosis, otherwise known as LAMs Disease. The disease affects middle aged women where normal lung tissue is destroyed and replace it with cysts. As a result, air cannot move freely in and out of the lungs, and the lungs cannot supply enough oxygen to the body's other organs. A few months ago Shelley was sent to the hospital to receive a double lung transplant in a final attempt to save her life. The Brothers of Triangle received word of Ms. Hannah's struggle and vowed to help her through this risky and expensive surgery. Campaigning throughout the year, the Fraternity was able to raise over $600 and presented this gift to her on Christmas Day. Since her struggle is ongoing, the Brothers of Triangle will continue to provide support to Ms. Hannah throughout the year.
RIT Produced a University News documentary on Triangle's Cans for LAMs program here.
